April 2017

Dear Colleagues,

First, we want to apologize that you have not yet found on our ICDAD website more information about this year´s session. Originally we wanted to create a new web page this year with regard to the holding of this year´s meeting in the USA. For the lack of time we have not succeeded to do it, therefore we waited for the final data for the annual meeting, including the offer of accommodation.

As to the annual meeting, we received an invitation from Timothy Rodgers, the director of The Wolfsonian–FIU, Miami Beach, Florida. The organizing committee for the meeting is composed by Silvia Barisione from The Wolfsonian–FIU, Annie Carlano from The Mint Museum, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Annamarie Sandecki from Tiffany Archive, New York as a member of the board.

The dates 29 November – 1 December are proposed so that the participants could attend other events in Miami: the annual conference American MUSCON takes place on December 5th and then Design Miami erupts on December 6th followed by Art Basel. In the announcement you will find the proposal for accommodation in the hotel in front of The Wolfsonian, please reserve yourselves. The cost of the conference, i.e. the conference fee and the form of the payment including early birds, will be determined in the near future, in order to meet the international payment conventions.

For this meeting, ICDAD can provide a travel grant for three persons (500 EUR each) up to 35 years old who work in a museum and are individual members of ICOM.

We look forward to our meeting!

On behalf of the board,

Helena Koenigsmarkova
Chair of ICDAD/Director of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, Czech Republic
